A failed CASE and TAGs...

First order of business:
The amazingly talented and generous Mel made a beautiful orange flower and I thought of my Operation smile set. I am sure I have 6 different flowers that could be layered the same way from 6 different sets, but this one was on the top of them all*smiles*

So I went and got the paper from Archiver's and made my own version of it. My fear of layers and bad embroidery skills left off lot of details she had on her sketch book.

Second order of business:
I got tagged recently by two very talented ladies (Beverly and Claire) and umpteen other talented ladies before that. I have been lazy getting around to talking about myself. I know no one really cares, but if you are one of those rare ones, here goes.

Things I Love:
  • Family. (Do they count as things? I think so. LOL!)
  • Food.
  • Friends.
  • Nature and The Creator.
Things I prefer not to love:
  • Mean people
  • Cluttered house (My dream home is one big room with furniture separating it into rooms, if any and has sunlight lighting up the whole home whenever possible)
  • Any kind of fanatics.
Songs On My I-Pod
  • I don't know (I gave mine to my 8 yr old)
Favorite Foods/Drinks
  • Anything that does not involve exotic animals like snakes, frogs etc etc.
  • Pina Colada (Virgin of course)

And it is left to you find "Seven Odd/Weird Things About Me" in the above details ;-)

Have a wonderful day everyone! TTFN.

Someone please stop me...

I am addicted to my Martha Stewart stars punch :-(

He is turning 8. Am I creative or what ;-)

There is my stars punch and the punch outs.

This is for my great nephew who is turning 1. I am not that old, that family all had kids very young (Yeah right).

There goes my punch again on the inside. Only this time stenciled and glued the punch outs.
Have a wonderful starry day everyone. TTFN!

I have been hoarding RAKs...

and I finally decided to post them.

Theresa: I was oohing and aahing her ribbons and she felt pity for me and sent me some along with this beautiful card :-)

Beverly: I still want to know how she made the glitter stick so well on this card. I need to go to one of her classes so she can teach me.

Allison: She also sent me a matching post-it holder, but I can't locate it in my world of boxes.

Yosha: I really liked this card on her blog and she decided to send it to me.

Beth: I met her on the PTI forum, she stopped by in St.Louis a while ago and we had a good time shopping together. She is super talented and just started a new blog. Go visit her and show her some love.

Risa: She sent me this beautiful card and nicely packaged stamped images that you see down below.
Thank you ladies for your generosity and thoughtfulness. Each and every one of them lifted my spirits to the next level.

While we are on the topic of RAKs, this is a card I made and sent to a dear friend that is recouping from surgery. Hope she likes it.

I love CTMH card stock for my mats. All the card stock has white core and when you want to do something different like I did here, it is perfect. I embossed with swiss dots and sanded it to bring the white out. I like the effect.

Have wonderful day! TTFN.

Stained glass or not stained glass...

These look small, but you gotta click on them to see the gigantic mistakes on them. The three pics are of the same card, just different light angles.

Here is what I have been working on for the past week. Not really, but it seems that way. When I saw the Gloria set, I had to get it, since I never tried the stained glass before and they might go well with the church members come Christmas.

Stamped on vellum, embossed with clear embossing powder, colored in with markers, cut out windows and glued them to the back. The windows on the side are stamped using the Annotations and centers cut out and again vellum on the back. Chair rail or whatever that is called is created using the three dotted line stamps again from Annotations. (Note to self: Needs improvements)

All that hard work and guess what? I will never give this card to anyone, because I like it and I feel like I put too much work into it. Now why did I make this card?

Have a wonderful day! I will be stopping by to see you soon ;-) TTFN.

I thought I better post before...

the deadline for the YKYR challenge. I made this card last weekend and have been busy with my business of basically doing nothing. So I thought I will post before it gets lost in the jungle.

Some time back, I made a card and since the lighting was bad, I posted a negative version of it. Everyone was complimenting how wonderful the blues were. So I decided to make a positive version of the negative version. Clear as mud? LOL!

I usually insert a blank white paper on the inside, just like the cards you buy in the stores. Then either print, stamp or do whatever my little heart desires. This way the recipient can take out the insert, put their own and reuse. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, right?

I used a frame from Annotations and stamped a sentiment from the same set onto the same Creative Memories pp used on the top, cut it out and glued on to my white insert.

I used my Riot Of Petals stamp by SU for the focal image and that makes it qualify for the Rockin to background music challenge by the You Know You Rock team. The challenge is to use background stamps as your focal image. I colored the image using Sakura gelly roll pens.

Have a wonderful weekend! TTFN.
