Snowman, Trash to treasure...

Here is my first ever snowman card for Allison's Snowmen challenge and Theresa's Trash to Treasure challenge. Divya insisted that I take a picture of her tiger too.

What is a snowman without the sparkles? Those were given using the Sakura star dust and his scarf and gloves are from a tea packaging.

I used my November stamp of the month by CTMH and believe me when I say, he is hot. The girls on the boards all want to get their hands on him but can't seem to be able to :-) Not yet anyway. I can see lot of them placing November orders just to get him for free.

Mind you this is a 5x7 card and he might be a snug fit on a A2 size card. But his accessories are too darn cute.

Have a wonderful day! TTFN

Treasure life again...

I used my Treasure Life set again for the Silhouette challenge. What can I do? It is so versatile. I used it here and here and here and now for this one. I got my moneys worth on that one:-) May be I will sell all my other stamps and just keep this one. Who am I kidding, right?

I felt accomplished when my 7yr old told me exactly what it was that I was trying to accomplish, when he saw it in the take a picture card pile. He scored a big hug and a kiss. Do you want to score a big virtual hug and a kiss? Go ahead and guess. LOL!

It is beautiful here. I am off to enjoy the sun and the pleasant weather. You have a wonderful day too! TTFN.

...and they lived happily ever after

is what the inside of the card says.
This anniversary/wedding card is made for Allison's AFSS34 Challenge. The theme this week was home/house. I didn't have any of those stamps. While I was searching for a house clipart, I came across this. A bird house is a house, right?

The sentiment is from Soul Mates set. I decided to stamp part of it on to the inside to complete the card. The base is CTMH textured CS and the clipart is printed on PTI white.

I colored the image using bic markers and twinkling H2Os(you can't see, since there is no sunlight here today). The flower in the corner and the branches with flowers are part of Mel's RAK.

My 3yr old has to finish every story with "And they lived happily ever after. Be End (her version of 'the end')"

So have a wonderful happily ever after kinda day! Be end. TTFN.

Not another inspiration...

Uh huh...Yes another inspiration :-) This time it is for Beate's inspiration challenge#22.

You can see the glass vases from only a certain angle and here they are.

Once again, I used my Treasure Life Water Hemlock or Queen Anne's Lace flowers and With Love vases to make this card. I also used the Adorning Corners for that adorning corner on the top:-)
The flowers are embossed in white embossing powder and shaded with Heavenly Blue marker on what I think is soft sky(SU)

I stamped the vases in Heavenly Blue and covered them up with Liquid glass. Sprinkled some fairy dust (glitter) on them while they were wet. Let dry and there you have them.

TIP: You don't use your Liquid Glass/crystal lacquer enough because you don't have a straight pin on hand all the time? Try laying it down while storing. I used to have to reach for the pin in between applications, even with the lid on, and now I haven't reached for it in a month. Comes out perfect all the time. Warning: Make sure your lid is tightly screwed :-)

Just in case you didn't already know, any of the CTMH products listed above can be purchased through me or via the links provided on this post.

Have another wonderful inspiration filled day! TTFN.

My turn this week...

to set the challenge.

First off, let us take a minute to pay homage to our fallen heroes on this day 7yrs ago and to the heroes still falling because of that day...

This week it was my turn to set the challenge and to surprise you all, I have chosen to do an inspiration piece for the stampin' gals challenge.

And here is the image I chose...

And here is my interpretation using the rose background stamp, gold embossing powder and sakura gel pens...

Another single layer card, except for that scallop frame. The sentiment panel is actually on the inside, which leaves a big hole in the front when opened. Used a krylon gold pen to give it a gold edge.

This card is made for my niece who just got engaged. She can put her fiance's picture in it and put it in a frame. That way she will never throw it away, thinking it is just a mere greeting. Pretty devious aunt I am ;-)

So what are you waiting for? Get your guns (embossing, that is) out and show the Stampin' gals some love.

Have a wonderfully Inspired day! TTFN.

Cards Cards Cards...

I have been busy making cards for examples so the ladies coming over next weekend will know what their cards should look like. Luckily, no cutting necessary, thanks to the From Me To You kits I bought for this purpose.

If you have one of these kits, don't be afraid to change up the colors, design etc. If you look closely at your booklet, none of these cards exactly match the ones in it.

Reason 1: I can't follow directions.
Reason 2: I think the card designs are too blah.

So that is what I have been doing folks, other than an intermittent try at some challenge or the other. No luck yet.

Have a wonderful don't follow directions kinda day! TTFN.

p.s. Dang! I was supposed to push the save as draft and pushed the orange button. Getting old I tell ya. There you have it.

A showCASE of Treasure Life...

I saw a few of these layouts in blogdom and on splitcoast and wanted to try one. Reminds me of an elegant dress. I used ribbon once again. Actually the ribbon drove the colors on the card. I stamped the images from Treasure Life set using Sunflower ink onto PTI's Summer Sunrise cs and used their matching swiss dots ribbon to finish it off.

The sentiments from the same stamp set are stamped in colorbox pigment ink. Here is the sentiment on the inside of the card.

Have a wonderful Treasure Life kinda day! TTFN.

Supplies: Base cs: CTMH White Daisy; Colored cs and ribbon: PaperTreyInk; Images and sentiments: Treasure life September stamp of the month; Ink: Colorbox and CTMH sunflower

Afraid of single layer cards...

Or plain old hate them? Then this is my dedication to you.

When you use metallic cardstock that is 110lbs and so pretty, why cover it up with something else? During my recent trip to Micheal's I found these cool rub-ons for 99c(I have half a sheet left to make another).

I also got a chance to use my Jingle Borders for the first time with silver embossing powder. It would have been a single layer card, if I remembered to use the embossing buddy first, but then, anything can be covered up.

I stamped it on another sheet and stitched it on top. I meant faux stiched. I don't make halloween cards, or thanksgiving cards, so I jumped right ahead and started making Christmas cards :-)

Have a wonderful single layery day! TTFN.

Supplies Used:
CS: Paper Company pomegranate
Snowflake Rub-ons: Michael's
Sentiment border: CTMH Jingle Borders
