DS started 3rd grade on the 18th. He was supposed to make a "Me" bag to take on the first day of school. He wrote this little poem with a little help from mommy of course...
These are some details his teacher needs to know anyhow, so it worked out great.
My name is Dimitri
I am nice
My mom is always making rice
My name is Dimitri
I am silly
I never met a person named Billy
My name is Dimitri
I am very creative
I am also very innovative (helped him here with the rhyming word)
My name is Dimitri
I am color blind
It is true, there are some colors I cannot find
My name is Dimitri
I am a little near sighted
Could I pick the first row to be seated
My name is Dimitri
I am now done
Let's go have some fun.... (the kids go off to recess)

Enjoy!

No more craft posts for me...
Well... I got back end of last week and since have been suffering with allergies or caught a cold. What was I thinking? I should have stayed until the allergy season was completely over.
Anyways to give you an update, I lost a few inches in India. I am sure I will find them here magically. I joined a 15 day program here, where they show you how to practice yoga and when you are done with that, they give you a massage with various oils and Ayurvedic powders and then let you sit in a steam bath for a few minutes. Lost 6 inches in the tummy, 1 to 2 inches each in every other part of the body. Yay!
All it cost me was $10.00 or so bucks a day. I wish I didn't have to travel for 24 hrs to get there, otherwise, I would be vacationing every 6 months to loose the inches I gain during the 6 months :-)
I am in no mood for crafting and just want to get rid of everything that is sitting in my dining room and claim that room back for family gatherings.
In a week or two you will be seeing a post with everything I have, crafting wise for sale. So keep your eyes peeled.
I received a card from my father-in-law. It said
"When I see you with your children, it brings me such joy. I can see so much of you in them. I see your love in their openness, your joy in their playfulness. It makes me so proud of you...
my loving daughter, their caring mother.
You mean so much to me, and on Mother's Day, I want to thank you for giving me such a wonderful gift...
my beautiful grandchildren."
Well there is some vases with glittery flowers on the outside, but that is not what made this card beautiful. Wouldn't you say so?
So I am giving my business back to Hallmark.
You might say, you can make cards and send them out, but that is the thing, I like them so much that I don't send them out. So no point there. I am going back to a real job that actually pays:-)
Since I am in no mood to come around and comment on your blogs, I am not allowing comments on here, but if you really really need to get in touch with me about something, you can find a way ;-)
I will still be checking up on you in the reader. Have a wonderful day now. TTFN.

Going on long vacation...
By the time you are reading this, I am on my way to homeland for an extended vacation. Will be back in the middle of May and will come visit you all then. Until then Chao!
This card is made for a member of the family who is diligently trying to learn guitar for the past year or so and practices 2-3 hrs a day.
I went a searching and found the beautiful guitar graphic here. Kudos to whoever made this graphic.
I wasn't going to sell this card, so I thought it is okay to use the graphic on a card. I found the logo for the guitar hero and found the font that matched the logo called Nightmare Hero. Put them all together printed on card stock, trimmed to size, punched the corners, added punched music notes, attached to a metallic silver card base and all done.
Don't have to stamp all the time right?
Have a wonderful day! TTFLT (TaTa For a Long Time)

Red and Technique post for my blogging sistas...
End of the month (February), I was supposed to post something Red and Beginning of the month(March), I was supposed to post a technique as part of an ongoing process to revive our sisterhood. So here goes sistas and the rest of you that are still hanging in there with me.
Supplies: Card stock and stamps: - Stampin' up(stipple rose and elegant greetings),Punch - EK Success, Liquid Glass - CTMH, Coloring - CTMH markers
What is the technique you ask? You asked for it. Here goes...
1. I stamped this image and after coloring, using a craft knife, cut out 3/4 of the image, and popped it up on pop dots. It is still one image, no double stamping, but gives depth to the image. Didn't have to give it shadows with my markers, I have natural shadows all with stamping once.
2. I used a edge punch to punch my corners. You have to make sure you are centering the corner, but it eliminates the need for a corner punch to match your border if you had one. I sometimes punch out a piece of card stock and use it as ribbon. This way I would have matching corners too.
3. I took my liquid glass and spread it randomly on my flowers, making sure to spread any excess with the tip and let it dry like so...
It is hard to show it in one picture, but you add some depth to the flower itself.
4. While making DS's class valentines (which I accidentally deleted a picture of and don't want to make anymore), I had left over paper from die cutting hearts out. I opened up the piece and it looked so good, I couldn't throw it away. I could have used it on the front, but then the back of my card will have decoration (talk about taking it a little too far). So I decided to do this instead.
The moral, take a second look at your scraps from die cuts before you pitch them. That's all for today folks. Have a wonderful creative day! TTFN.

Thinking of you, Thinking of you and Really Thinking of you...
That is the gist of all the cards I make these days. May be a few congratulations for babies and get well soon cards.
For those of you that don't know the story, I volunteered to make cards for my son's school caring community. I am liking the fact that I am only making cards when I need them. It helps me put some thought into it and think of the people that I may know and helps me personalize them. Isn't that why I started making cards in the first place?
Here they are for your viewing pleasure...
This one is going to a kid who lost his grand mother... The 3-in-1 hydrangea punch by... who else but Martha Stewart. Who is going shopping? I went shopping for the punch when I saw this one by Glenda.
How can I forget the Liquid Glass that is holding the flowers down for good.
This one is going to a family where the mother is gravely ill. I feel badly for the 8 yr old twins from my DS's class :-(
On a happier note, this one is going to a couple who just had a baby boy. I hope I didn't misuse my Valentine Lace punch.
This one went to a friend who placed a CTMH order through me. During a conversation she mentioned that she loves peacocks. Boy! has she come to the right place (You will know what I mean if you see the number of peacock stamps I collected) :-)
Hope the recipients enjoy them as much as you and I do looking at them.
Have a wonderful day! TTFN!

Blogoversary Today!!!
That is what my widget on the right says. Couple of days ago, I accidentally came into my blog and saw that the anniversary was coming up. So I had to quickly make something and post :-)
Usually people get gifts on their anniversaries. But in blogdom, we tend to give gifts on our anniversary. I am taking it back to reality. Feel free to send me what you wish as my anniversary gift. LOL!
I bought some stamps on eBay and the lady packed the stamps in this cute tissue paper.
I tried linen technique a while ago. Usually I don't throw anything in the trash and that one I had to throw away. Otherwise, I was going to throw up ;-) . So I was going to give it another try when I saw this tissue paper.
I had a print mishap and had card stock that had the red block printed. I saved it to use it for a layer or something. The tissue and the red block went together really well, like they were meant for each other...You decide for yourself. Blech picture, because the sun has not decided to come out yet, even though it is 9:00 AM.
Here it is by itself. May be I will stamp a sentiment on the top when I find a use for this card or not.
No stamping. Bonding memories glue worked perfect for attaching the tissue. Thank you Rachel for reminding me that I have it. A couple of rhinestone stickers for the flower centers and that is it.
See y'all next month. Have a wonderful day now! TTFN.
